Adaptation Governance for NRM Planning in Tasmania

Climate Planning assessed the adaptation governance elements associated with NRM planning in Tasmania. The project was used to help guide NRM decision-making and strategic direction for climate change adaptation. This project was based on Climate Planning’s Informed.City framework for local government and expanded the methodology into the natural resource management milieu.

Climate Change Adaptation Taskforce

Climate Planning assessed the adaptation governance of five Queensland local governments who are members of the Climate Change Adaptation Taskforce (C-CAT). The project provided local governments with a baseline assessment of their climate change adaptation governance and directions for mainstreaming adaptation into their organisation.

Kingborough Council Community Resilience Initiative

Climate Planning delivered Kingborough Council’s Community Resilience project which focussed on identifying solutions and promoting community resilience against natural hazards and climate-related risks.

Climate Change Adaptation Implementation Plan

Climate Planning delivered a Climate Change Adaptation Implementation Plan. It identified the relevant triggers for adaptation action and utilised recent council/ community studies in Kingborough to establish a system to benchmark and track climate change adaptation progress and scope out Triggers for Change.

Climate Change and the Law

Climate Planning helped design and deliver the DLA Piper/ UNESCO project titled ‘Climate Change and the Law’. Climate Planning worked in Fiji and Samoa to help raise the capacity of lawyers in the Pacific Region to implement a climate change policy.
